We manage extensive systems of peer-reviewed, multi-state oversight and accreditation programs and provide education, training and accreditation programs to regulators at all levels.

Remedio C. Mafnas, Secretary
Confirmed as Secretary of Commerce of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) by the Senate on Aug. 8, 2024, Secretary Mafnas previously served as Acting Secretary, appointed by Gov. Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang in November 2023. As Secretary, she leads the strategic direction of all six divisions within the CNMI Department of Commerce. She concurrently serves as the Insurance Commissioner within the Banking and Insurance Section. Prior to her role as Secretary of Commerce, she served as the registrar of corporations. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Secretary Mafnas transitioned into the private sector, spending 18 months as a compliance administrator for Imperial Pacific International Saipan before returning to the CNMI Department of Commerce.
